AC Gas Charging Pressures & Operating Guidelines

A highly advanced pressure sizer for air conditioning and refrigeration systems. All operating suction, discharge, and standing pressures fluctuate based on ambient temperature.

Dynamic Ambient-Compensated Pressure Calculator

Select a refrigerant and slide the outdoor temperature to calculate target pressures for diagnostics.

Important Gas Charging Guidelines:

  • Always pull a vacuum of under 500 microns before charging to remove non-condensables.
  • Charge R410A and R404A blends as liquid only to prevent blend fractionation.
  • Standby or standing pressures should never be used as a primary guide for charge sufficiency.
